THE VINTAGE SLEEPER

For this live project with Layrd, I renovated Southampton’s Above Bar Church into an Apart Hotel. The design was planned with flexibility to suit the needs of long stay visitors, or those simply in need of a moment of rest and nostalgia between travel.

"The Vintage Sleeper" concept draws inspiration from the rich transportation history of Southampton, one that connects so many travellers to the rest of the UK conveniently and efficiently. The interior honours this idea and legacy with subtle nods to the architecture of train stations, upholstery seen within public transport, and the structure of vintage sleeper trains.
