HUMAN STORIES
TYPE
Final Major Project
YEAR
2026
In my Final Major Project at Solent University, I designed an Immersive Exhibition to be situated in the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
I was inspired by Magnum Photos, an organisation which was founded by four independent photographers in 1947. Robert Capa, Henri-Cartier Bresson, George Rodger and David Seymour had their first meeting in the Museum of Modern Art, marking the beginning of an iconic legacy.
My concept "Human Stories" follows the idea of moving through phases of life and telling deeply intimate and meaningful stories through photography. Please explore each concept and space, as every room has an important story to tell through its immersive interior and the imagery displayed.
Concepts (in chronological order) include: Magnum History, Childhood, Work & Daily Life, Love & Intimacy, Conflict & Restoration, Memory, and Hope.
I designed a supporting space, named 'The Photographer's Lounge', inspired by Magnum Photos' beginnings. The space is a flash back to mid-century living, and pays homage to the exhibition itself above the café counter, with Magnum photographs from each of my 7 designed spaces.
